Asheville NC Guided Trout Fishing

Asheville NC guided trout fishing

Asheville NC guided trout fishing trip is one of the best ways to relax for your vacation in the Smoky Mountains! Let us show you some of the finest trout waters in Western NC. One of the best ways to see the larger rivers in the area is by booking a guided float trip on the Tuckasegee River Delayed Harvest section! The Webster, NC waters of the Tuckasegee are only a 35-minute drive from Asheville!

October through May is when the Delayed Harvest streams are loaded with epic numbers of trout! The top tailwater in the state of NC is the Nantahala River which is about a 90-minute drive from Asheville. Other options close by include the DH streams on the Laurel River near Hot Springs, NC and the East Fork of the Pigeon River near Waynesville, NC.

If you prefer bigger waters similar to western streams then we offer the Tuckasegee River, Nantahala River, and the Little Tennessee River here in Swain County. Swain County offers the greatest miles of great trout waters in the state of North Carolina! Bryson City is the county seat of Swain and there are many options near to Asheville!

The French Broad river also has a Delayed Harvest stream near Rosman, NC. We float the large river upstream from Arden, NC for Muskie during the winter months. The Davidson River is also a short drive from Asheville and it is one of my favorites during the offseason for a freestone river. We provide all of the gear and lunch for all of our programs.

The most popular waters will be listed in the submenus that we offer our various guided fly fishing trips and other customized programs. Or click on these links for more information which include guided float trips, guided wade trips, guided lake trips, casting instruction, video casting lesson, fly fishing schools, groups and corporate trips, backcountry trips, programs and demonstrations, and destination trips!

Bryson City also has great locations for fly casting instruction to work out some kinks before you hit the streams. For those new to the sport of fly fishing, it is a good idea to start off with some very basic casting instruction before hitting the stream. It will benefit you greatly for years of enjoyment down the road perfecting your casting. Enjoy a day of total immersion into fly fishing with the most experienced guides in the region since 1987!

Area Attractions Near Bryson City

Other area attractions can be found by contacting the Bryson City, NC Chamber of Commerce. The number is 800-867-9246. Swain County is the trout mecca of the southern states. Over 75% of the county is either Nantahala National Forest or the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The Park visitors exceed 14 million people per year! When you consider all of the whitewater rafting, Smoky Mountain Railroad, Appalachian Trail hikes, hundreds of waterfall hikes, great mountain biking, and many other outdoor adventures it is not hard to see why our little mountain town of Bryson City is always expanding.

Many great new restaurants and lodging in Bryson City for hosting large groups. Cherokee, NC is about a 10-minute drive from Bryson City. Gatlinburg, TN is a 45-minute drive over the hill to Bryson City. We are about an hour drive from Highlands and Asheville NC. Knoxville and Chattanooga TN is about 2 1/2 hours away. Atlanta, GA, and Charlotte, NC are about a 3-hour drive. Plan your next get-a-away to the trout mecca town of Bryson City, NC! My favorite addition to the town is the Nantahala Brewery which also provides some very good bands all through the season!
